job description - Corporate Communications Officer


  • Develop and execute strategies to project a reputable public image for the Company. These should reflect the Company’s vision and strategic direction, while also enhancing its competitive positioning.
  • Develop and implement communication framework, policies, and guidelines relating to the dissemination of information within and outside the Company.
  • Establish beneficial relationships with various media houses to facilitate the coverage of press releases and media briefings that project the Company’s corporate image and reputation.
  • Manage the Company’s online presence (website and social media handles), ensuring continuous engagement and content update.
  • Keep abreast of industry and corporate developments, events, and issues that may impact the Company’s corporate image and responsibilities.
  • Draft periodic press briefings and thought-leadership articles for external publication to project the Company’s image.
  • Conduct industry-related research and draft newsletters for internal communications and awareness.
  • Develop a framework to gauge the public perception of the Company and articulate appropriate strategies and action steps to ensure alignment of public perception with the image desired by the Company.
  • Coordinate the development of concepts, ideas, and themes in the support of promotional/ advertisement campaigns, press conferences, etc.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a databank of relevant information from newspapers, magazines, journals, etc.
  • Ensure correct use of the Company’s logo, color, etc. for all correspondences, items, signage, etc. within and outside the Company to protect its corporate identity.
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as may be delegated by the Supervisor.

Qualification and Experience

  • First Degree in Mass Communications, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. Membership of relevant professional bodies and or possession of certifications will be an added advantage.
  • 3 to 5 years relevant experience, preferably in a financial services institution.
