job description - Digital Copywriter

  • Our Digital Marketing Team is seeking an experienced Digital Copywriter with exceptional writing, communication, and organizational skills to edit, update, and write technical and marketing content for our company.
  • The ideal candidate will work closely with the Brand and Marketing team to craft copy for our digital mediums: website, long-form, emails, SMS, social media, landing pages, ads, etc.
  • The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail and the ability to write in our voice to deliver messaging while understanding the overall strategy and KPIs for each channel and project.
  • They should be able to ensure the brand tone of voice is consistent with our messaging framework and understand how to create a strong call to action as well as the application of SEO. The value in the role would not only be in copywriting but also in critically thinking about each piece through a marketing lens and finding a balance between messaging, KPIs, and maintaining brand voice.
  • This role will support the Marketing and Communications team’s efforts to promote, advertise, and/or raise awareness of the Company’s services, benefits, and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the creative team to ensure that the visual elements of the webpage complement the words.
  • Provide other digital content, such as images and video, if required
  • Liaise with Product Management, Marketing, SEO and Digital Channels, and Web teams to generate content for various portfolios and workflow solutions.
  • Review and edit content developed to determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greater reader comprehension and conversion rates.
  • Interpreting strategic direction and adapting points from briefs into persuasive copy.
  • Writing high-engagement social media content that reflects our brand voice.
  • Produce clear, concise, error-free content that adheres to style guidelines.
  • Partner with the marketing team to plan for and write engaging digital content.
  • Collaborate with search engine optimization (SEO), on-site search experts, and user experience (UX) team to identify clear goals for digital marketing content.
  • Work with the Design Team on wireframes and prototypes.
  • Propose copy concepts and present underlying strategic thinking.
  • Edit Public Relations materials, as needed.
  • Write benefit-driven copy for landing pages that will generate leads and conversions
  • Follow and share industry trends as well as stay up-to-speed on emerging technologies and how they can/will impact solutions.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) on social media that builds meaningful connections and encourages engagement/action.
  • Create social media editorial calendars and schedules.
  • Development of creative campaigns and copy in alignment with the brand.
  • Research and master new market segments quickly.
  • Work closely with developers and designers to ensure copy tone and style are consistent with visual tone and style
  • Research content topics by evaluating site metrics, performing competitive analysis, understanding content flow and interviewing subject matter experts within the company.
  • Leverage industry insights to create compelling narratives.
  • Provide insight on opportunities and challenges to optimise our content strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Digital Copywriter with an emphasis on multichannel campaigns.
  • A portfolio of previous work to showcase experience and creativity.
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to explain different writing needs in digital and what your approach is within that range
  • A working knowledge of best practices for common digital marketing communications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as relevant copywriting software platforms.
  • Prior experience supporting B2C and B2B brands.
  • A passion for writing and the willingness to learn from other creative professionals.
