job description - Financial Institutions Sales Officer


  • The ideal candidate will provide superior quality Treasury & Investment related products & services to clients.
  • Coordinate with other members of the sales team, Treasury & Investment, other departments and major corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties Relationship Management:

  • Solicit, develop and manage full service relationships with individual and institutional treasury customers.
  • Inform clients of new financial products/ services and changes to legislation regarding their investments.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of existing relationships/prospects.

Marketing:

  • Drive increased customer trades/ sales across the treasury product classes.
  • Market new customers and cross-sell the bank's wide range of offerings with existing customers.
  • Negotiate the roll-over of funds, and interest rates with depositors. Customer Service
  • Ensure the execution of client mandates and transactions in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Provide clients with a high level of individualised customer service and strategies consistent with their service needs/expectations.

Documentation:

  • Maintain an accurate record of all activities and transactions.

Product Development:

  • Work closely with the Team Lead, Financial Institutions Sales to review the competitive environment and develop new products and the selection of appropriate strategies compatible with client’s investment goals and risk appetite.
  • Utilise knowledge of the client’s business in the value chain of product development and ongoing product management activities.
  • Proactively seek to determine customer needs and liaise with the relevant Dealing teams to meet such needs.

Market Intelligence:

  • Proactively seek and gather data/ information on product performance, client attitudes and new business/product opportunities.

Advisory:

  • Advise clients on investment in government securities (primary and secondary markets) as well as other bank's products and services.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Keep abreast of industry developments and trends and proactively ensure the adoption of relevant practices.

Reporting and Other Duties:

  • Assist in the documentation of periodic management reports on the activities of the department.
  • Daily/ weekly progress reports for the Team Lead, Financial Institutions Sales.
  • Incident report.
  • Act on behalf of, and perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Team Lead, Financial Institutions Sales

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years’ banking experience
  • Deep awareness and understanding of the financial industry.
