job description - GBV Officer
The GBV Officer should have a strong ability to work under pressure in a high-risk duty station and should possess the following:
- Previous experience working in an IDP context/Cluster approach.
- Good understanding of Inter-Agency and multisectoral coordination.
- Good knowledge of mixed IDP/refugee situations.
- Good knowledge of UNHCR's Global GBV policy.
- Good knowledge of UNHCR’s Global Framework for the Protection of Children.
- Experience in community-based protection and area-based initiatives.
- Awareness and demonstrable knowledge of gender issues and their relevance in humanitarian emergency settings.
- Demonstrated organizational and management skills, including project management and fund raising.
- Excellent communication and drafting skills in English.
- Demonstrated coordination and consensus building skills to manage multiple stakeholder consultation process including the ability to work collaboratively with government counterparts and other UN agencies.
- Ability to work under pressure and come up with innovative and creative solutions given the complex and evolving nature of the humanitarian crisis in the country.
- Experience in providing on the job training, coaching and mentoring support to UNHCR and partner staff including the development of training materials.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation of GBV/CP programmes.
- Demonstrated skills in developing GBV/CP strategic priorities and case management tools such as referral pathways.
- Good understanding of UNHCR software such as WorkDay, RBM, MSRP, etc.
