Key Responsibilities
- Planning events to promote the school and its programs, such as dances or fundraisers
- Interviewing candidates for teaching positions and making hiring decisions based on the candidates’ qualifications and cultural fit with the school community
- Assisting with the implementation of new policies at the school and communicating with parents about any changes
- Overseeing the overall operation of the school, including hiring staff and overseeing their work performance
- Providing academic support to students who are struggling in a particular subject area.
- Reviewing student progress and evaluating teacher performance on an ongoing basis to ensure that all students are receiving a quality education
- Ensuring that the school is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations
- Developing curriculum and lesson plans that meet federal, state, and local standards for education
- Evaluating the effectiveness of teachers and other school staff in order to identify training needs and recommend appropriate disciplinary action
Requirements
- B.Sc., B.Ed., or HND in a related field
- MBA, M.Sc is an added advantage
- State-specific teacher certification
- A principal certification
- Some types of Administrator certification
- 6 - 10 years of relevant experience.
