job description - Operations Manager

  • Actively pursue the company’s strategic and operational objectives.
  • Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget.
  • Track staffing requirements and oversee the hiring of new employees as needed.
  • Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Track company-wide financial information and review reporting for management.
  • Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent services.
  • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity.
  • Collaborate with and supervise cross-functional support teams in improving tools and systems for business efficiency.
  • Recommend strategies and advise the Creative Director on issues that pertain to the development of the company.
  • Ensure that the company’s activities remain compliant to statutory directives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance to all financial, human resources and safety compliance directives.
  • Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and external stakeholders to ensure proper operations of the organization.
  • Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution.
  • Oversee training and development of all employees in line with identified needs.
  • Organize and monitor implementation of periodic performance appraisals.
  • Provide monthly reports on key operations of the company not limited to: Human Resources, Finance, production etc.
  • Oversee materials and inventory management.
  • Receive, review and compile reports from the management team.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of B.Sc Degree in Business Administration.
  • Management certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience
  • Experience in the fashion industry is compulsory.

  • Must demonstrate the confidence and ability to relate with stakeholders (clients, vendors, suppliers etc.) in an assertive and professional way.
  • Must be willing to work long hours and be very responsive when situations require this.
  • Must have the ability to manage the flow of people and business, liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders for maximum efficiency.
  • Please note that proximity to the island is key.
