job description - Procurement Officer


  • Process and coordinate customer orders from receipt to shipment (delivery of items) to invoicing.
  • Communicate effectively regarding all administrative aspects of the status of customers’ orders or potential orders, (e.g., pricing, shipment status, defects, etc.) in a manner that displays the utmost responsiveness and professionalism, as Company's representatives to customers.
  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing fast and accurate responses, and maintaining solid product knowledge.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure continued supply and best value(quality) delivered. i.e. Make suppliers Partners.
  • Evaluate new suppliers based on established criteria. Recommend acquisition vendor candidates to ensure supply and improve competitive position.
  • Implement and Deploy Metrics to Measure Supplier Performance
  • Exercise judgment in using guidelines established in policies and procedures to make decisions on service issues, such as replacement orders, and authorizing returns.
  • Provide assistance to analyze and identify On Time Delivery issues and help make decisions that balance the needs of the customer with the business needs of the company.
  • Negotiate best deal with suppliers for Company's customers.
  • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
  • Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.
  • Develop improvement programs with the Purchasing Analyst / Supply Chain Analyst to strengthen the sources of supply.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with interest in growing in Supply Chain career.
  • 0 - 1 year of work experience in Purchasing / Buy / Procurement Level / Accounting / Finance
  • Candidate must live around the Lekki axis.
  • Preferably doing NYSC or about to commence NYSC situated in Lagos
